Terms of Service
Welcome to Tales From Today. By using this website or subscribing to our daily email, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What we provide
We publish true stories about events from history, one for every day of the year, on this website and in an optional free daily email. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. We do not sell your data.
Subscriptions
- The daily email is free. You subscribe by entering your email address and confirming it through a link we send you.
- You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- You must own or have permission to use the email address you give us.
Accuracy and educational use
We work to make our stories accurate and to credit our sources and images, but history is complex and sources sometimes disagree. The stories are provided for general information and enjoyment. They are not professional, legal, academic or other advice, and we do not guarantee that they are complete, current or error-free. If you spot a mistake, please tell us through the feedback form.
Our content
- The stories, design and other original material on this site belong to Tales From Today, except where noted.
- Images are credited where they appear and are used under their public-domain or open licenses. Those images remain subject to their own license terms.
- You are welcome to read, share links to, and quote short excerpts from our stories with credit and a link back to the original page. Please do not copy or republish whole stories, or systematically copy the site, without our written permission.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the site or its data;
- use automated tools to scrape the site at a rate that harms its performance;
- use our forms to send spam, malware or unlawful, abusive or misleading content;
- sign up an email address that is not yours.
We may block access that we reasonably believe breaks these rules.
Feedback you send us
If you send us feedback, ideas or suggestions, you allow us to use them to improve the site without owing you anything. We will not publish your name or message without your permission.
Links to other sites
Our stories and credits may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site and email are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that the site will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, or that any particular email will be delivered.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tales From Today and the people who run it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or its content.
Changes and ending service
We may change these terms, change the site, or stop offering the site or the email at any time. When terms change, the "Last updated" date above will change, and continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.
